What we collect
When you submit the case evaluation form on this website, we collect the information you provide voluntarily, which includes:
- Your name, email address, and phone number
- Information about your arrest: county, city, timing, the reason for the stop, chemical test type and result, prior offenses, license type, aggravating factors, relevant medical conditions, current legal representation status, and any additional details you choose to share
- Your IP address and browser user agent, captured automatically for security and abuse prevention
How we use it
The information you submit is used for the following purposes:
- To generate the written case analysis we deliver to your email
- To follow up with you about your case if you wish to discuss representation
- To improve the service over time, in aggregated and de-identified form
What we don't do
- We do not sell your information to third parties.
- We do not share your information with attorneys or services outside of Joel Brand, Esq.
- We do not use your information for advertising outside the scope of follow-up regarding your case.
Data retention and deletion
Submission records are retained for as long as is necessary to provide the service and respond to follow-up inquiries. You may request deletion of your information at any time by emailing the address below.
Third-party processors
The written analysis is generated using an AI service provided by Anthropic, PBC. The facts you submit are transmitted to Anthropic solely for the purpose of generating your analysis and are not used by Anthropic to train their models when accessed via the API. Email delivery is performed by an SMTP provider.
Security
Submitted information is transmitted over an encrypted (HTTPS/TLS) connection and stored on a server we control. While no system is perfectly secure, we take reasonable steps to protect your information from unauthorized access.
Your rights under California law
California residents have certain rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including the right to know what personal information has been collected and the right to request deletion. To exercise these rights, contact us using the information below.
